Butcher's American Steakhouse in Hamburg

Is my 2nd favorite restaurant in this quarter but still very tasty. The dishes are very fresh and very tasty. I'll stop by for a steak after lockdown, but only if you still have the delicious wine.

Worst vegan restaurant in town. We recommend!

Unfortunately not to be recommended. Price-performance in exorbitant disharmony. The cooking level was not reached even after returning and reprocessing. Fed there twice, disappointed twice.

Simply 110% !! Great atmosphere, staff is friendly and the food is simply excellent.

Absolute output stage. Both the food and the service. Highly priced, but worth every penny.

One of our favorite restaurants in Hamburg. Now and then, unfortunately, a problem with the chefs, so that side dishes do not come as ordered or the meat was too well done.

Not good enough for it's price. Starters were good, we've tried salmon tartar and crabcake, both meet expectations. Service is OK, although with the usual tendency to be too importunate at the beginning and disappear later. The main issue are steaks. They are completely not OK. You may expect that kind of quality in the places with the prices three times lower. We've had filet and new york strip, both were bad, each in it's own way. Basically about the third of both was eatable and that is not what you expect for their price. Filet was way overcooked on it's surface, strip was full of uneatable fat and tendon.

Steak restaurant! A better place to go without great expectations. I highly recommend this place if you want to have a steak on a day when you want to feel good.

The ambience is cozy and nice, apart from the old and dirty carpet. The staff was very friendly, not intrusive, and offered good service. Our food was excellent and the meat fried to perfection. Starter and dessert also great! As for the drinks, we were disappointed. The drinks (champagne and red wine), selected in advance from the restaurant's internet wine list, were not available. That is not possible with such a high-priced restaurant! The website should be adapted accordingly.

Always here, always perfection. The best meat in town, incredibly good service and the best wine recommendations. I always enjoy coming back here.

Always very tasty. The beef from Nebraska tasted very good. Mega steak, juicy and tender. In my opinion, one of the best steakhouses in Hamburg, even if not very cheap.

Unfortunately I cannot recommend this restaurant. The price / performance ratio is unfortunately not right. The waitress was polite but not attentive. Although only 3 tables were occupied, we unfortunately often sat there without drinks. This was only available on request, as was the menu. The table next to us was already ready with the main course, so we had only ordered it, although we were there much earlier. Unfortunately, the meat was also dry - with a Stekhouse in this price range, I simply expect top quality. Even when we pointed it out, it was only communicated that it would be passed on to the boss. There wasn't even a discount and it's not about the sum, but about the gesture. The dessert was very good though, hence the second star.

Unfortunately, the evening was a disappointment. The cooking level of the steak was not as desired (medium). After we pointed this out, the steak was put on the grill again. A few minutes later the service came back with the steaks, unfortunately the cooking level was still missing. The waitress then said: "If you want me to wrap it in aluminum foil, you may be able to eat it at home". We were able to follow the same thing at the next table, and the cooking level was also not as desired here. As compensation we were taken out of 2 beers, but you should keep in mind that we had two steaks etc. and a bottle of red wine that evening. We expected more from this restaurant. Conclusion: not recommended

We enjoyed the evening with you at the Butchers for two. The offers are already in the higher level, but with top quality. The meat comes fresh from Nebraska and each variety is explained in detail before the choice of food, but so fresh that one likes to listen. The owners and operators are extremely friendly and informal hosts. The decor goes well with a great grilled steak. We will be back as soon as we are in Hamburg again.

My friend and I had better steak at cheaper prices. That should make everyone think that every customer should be treated equally.

Great steakhouse !!! Very good meat quality, the different steaks are brought before the selection to the table. Whimsy and friendly waiters with a casual saying on the lips. Very nice atmosphere. Good wine selection. A successful evening with friends

Steaks and side dishes very good. What does not fit the style and price range is on the one hand no coffee and no espresso is offered, because the machines have been broken for a long time and on the other hand the dirty and partly broken toilet facilities. Everything has to be right in the price range.

Slow service but my god the meat was fantastic. 600g ribeye medium rare. You don't need any sauces or side dishes. A sprinkle of salt and you have a ticket to heaven!

This was a lovely steak house. Beautiful ambiance and wonderful wait staff. Good selections of steak and wine. My steak was good but for me the star of dinner were my green beans with bacon. The cheesecake was delicious too!

The food was delicious. The beef was cooked on point and sides tasted really well. The server were very friendly and helpful. I loved the ambiance in this restaurant. I will come back again.

Great steakhouse with good food, service and atmosphere. Can easily compete with MASH but has better atmosphere with plenty of hygge. More casual than MASH which I prefer. Only suggestion for improvement is larger selection of smaller steaks 2-300g.

The Restaurant is very beautiful and the staff is trys hard to get you into that ambient. But...for that price range i would definitely expect more. The food is delicious, but the premises are little bit dusty and we saw a little mice family playing near the kitchen entrance. Beside that, it was very nice evening. But we do not return. It is a pity.

Top meat quality with experienced and friendly service. Good wine selection and great appetizers. Hand tame choice: 300 grams of fillet steak with pepper sauce, spinach and mushrooms. A bottle of everything lost because the name is so beautiful.

If You want the best: this's absolutely the place My family and I was at Butchers yesterday and it was worth every cent.! Thanks to Sascha for a beautiful and great hospitality.

A great place for steaks in Hamburg. We went there for a dinner with friends from the US and their were amazed. The staff is experienced and welcoming, the setting is perfect and the chairs are very comfortable. The four star rating is just because of one tiny thing: the food could be a little more flavorful. The prices are reasonable.

Very good steak house, good food and good atmosphere. The waiters offers a really good service. They explain in detail the differences between the different kinds of meat cuts and the starters are to die for.

We had high expectations, as Butchers steak house supposed to be the best steak restaurant in Hamburg. The interior is not impressive and lack the exclusivity of a luxury steak restaurant. The presentation of the meat was fine. The quality of the meat was good (had Rib-eye, 400g) but lack real taste. Also the cook had some difficulties to cook the meat as ordered. The Sauce béarnaise was a true disaster and did not have any similarity to béarnaise – not even the color. The Wine list is limited and the wines are heavily overpriced and they do not have the right glasses for it. If you have tried Grill Royal in Berlin or MASH in Denmark you know how a good steak should be and the service as well.

Excellent atmosphere and service. Steaks are large and juicy although not the highest quality. Had a 600g Ribeye that had more than usual tendon and fat. Taste was good though and so were the side dishes. Plenty of decent wine to choose from. All in all, good or very good but it comes at a top price so value for money. Probably not!

Best Steak in Hamburg! Had an amazing prime rib, imported on slow boat, from Nebraska USA, where it is aged....this is not sad German beef, that you get at as chain like, block house, and called steak ..this is a world class restaurant, with incredible tasting beef, and the vegetables, service, and the wine, was outstanding! Remember the price is for reason, this is imported premium cow,....like you would expect with Wolfgang Puck, or someplace in New York.......worth every penny....
